"La Bamba", a top 40 hit for teenager super star Ritche Valens, is also the name of a movie tribute to Ritchie. This video is the trailer for the movie. On what has become known as "The Day the Music Died" (February 3, 1959), Ritchie Valens died in a plane crash in Iowa. The accidental crash also took the lives of fellow musicians, Buddy Holly, and J. P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson, and pilot, Roger Peterson. Valens was only 17 years old at the time of his death.
